SUMMARY:CASA East Linn Virtual Event
DESCRIPTION:Our guest speakers for this event are Dr. Jeannie Davis and Jo Ann McQueary who will share their experience of being a CASA and motivational speaker Russ Hedge. We look forward to sharing their stories and how you can help every waiting child in Linn County achieve the stability and life-long support that is so needed. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are the voice for the best interest of the children they serve from recommending Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) to psychological evaluations. Many times\, DHS caseworkers\, lawyers\, and foster parents change during their time in care. Advocates are the consistent and unstoppable force: helping to prevent a child from languishing within the ever-changing child welfare system. There are currently over 200 children in Linn County foster care and CASA of Linn County has over 60 active volunteers serving over 100 children in care. We need your help to meet the need of over 80 waiting children who need an advocate. For each child in foster care\, the state of Oregon spends $3\,500.00 per month. We hope you can help us spread awareness of the importance of Court Appointed Special Advocates who make such a big difference in so many people's lives.
