"Overview of the Hemp Industry from Seed to Sale"
with guest speaker Mary Lou Burton, Cannabis Collaborative Conference, Bella Vista Events
Mary Lou lives in Lake Oswego Oregon and she is the mother of four children. With her Catholic upbringing and one of eight children, had minimal exposure to cannabis. She started a business doing event planning shows, resource guides and connecting the hospitality industry for over 28 years. When Oregon voted for cannabis legalization, a friend with a tier 3 producer operation in Washington recommended that she duplicate her company model for the Cannabis Industry with an educational Conference. Burton created the Cannabis Collaborative Conference with the 5th conference which features over 30 educational sessions to help educate on rules & regulations with OLCC participating with the events. Last year’s CCC was all about becoming profitable and a popular feature at the show was the “Investor Lounge”. Burton also produced the Oregon Cannabis Grower’s Fair that included a plant competition and the winning plants were on display at the Oregon State Fair. Networking and connecting are here expertise and her public relations efforts have resulting in local, national and international stories and recognition for the Oregon Cannabis Industry. Her goal is to make Oregon the “Model Cannabis State”. As a result of her efforts and thousands of connections she has created “Cannabis Connex” with her partner Michelle Grogan. Together they are connecting buyers with sellers, investors, consulting, licensing, expansion, networking and referrals for all aspects of the industry. Burton says that they have created the “Angie’s List” for the Cannabis Industry.
