About our speaker:
Dr. Sugat Patel
Dr Patel received his Bachelor of Science degree in BioMedical Engineering at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Under the US Navy Health Professional Scholarship Program, he attended Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, OH and completed his residency and fellowship training at the Naval Medical Center San Diego in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease, respectively.
Dr Patel has served as the Designated Institution Official at GSRMC since 2006. In addition to his teaching and GME administrative duties, he practices as a General Infectious Disease physician with an interest in Sexually Transmitted Infection, HIV and Hepatitis C.
He currently serves as Chair of the SHS Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and is faculty for the Oregon AIDS Education and Training Center. His new life goal is to end HIV. "Always go big on life goals," he states.
