About Troy:
Troy Johnson was appointed President and CEO of Hazelnut Growers of Oregon (HGO) in September 2024, returning to the company where he launched his nut industry career in 1996.
Over the past 30 years, Troy has driven growth through sales penetration, strategic marketing, and new product development. He has worked with nearly every tree nut but is best known for his deep expertise in hazelnuts.
A U.S. Army veteran, he holds a Bachelor’s in Management and Communication from Concordia University and an MBA from Portland State University, where he has also served as an adjunct professor on multiple occasions.
Troy and his wife Cheryl live in Salem, Oregon. His proudest achievement? Being father and stepfather to five wonderful adult children.
