About Us

WVFRC Chaplains serve the hearts and minds of First Responders by providing holistic support for their physical, mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of First and that of their families. To that end, we continually train, educate, and equip our Chaplains to the standards of the Federation of Fire Chaplains (FFC) and the International Conference of Police Chaplains (ICPC), with continued training in-house with agencies, and extensively through the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF).

WVFRC currently serves 20 agencies in Linn, Benton, and Marion Counties, serving City/County/State Law Enforcement, Search & Rescue Teams, Multi Agency Investigation Teams, SWAT teams, Parole and Probation, Corrections/Jail, Hostage Negotiation teams, Crisis Response teams, Fire Departments, EMS Departments, Dispatch Centers, Medical Examiner's Office, Critical Care nursing staff, District Attorney’s Office’s, and the State Department of Transport.

Chaplains also serve the public on-scene of critical incidents and with the delivery of death notifications following tragic events. Along with providing immediate care and guidance in those extremely distressing and confusing hours, they provide grief support in the days, months, years that follow, and ultimately grow into relationship with those who extend the invitation to do so.
